About Freespace Robotics

Imagine an AS/RS system that doesn’t just store and retrieve but also sorts, buffers, stages, and sequences full cases, bulky items, and each picks—all within a single, compact, and efficient cube. Freespace Robotics revolutionizes warehouse operations by consolidating and automating functions traditionally performed externally by conveyors, forklifts, and manual labor, all while requiring less floor space. Unlike conventional AS/RS systems focused solely on storage and retrieval, Freespace’s dynamic deep-lane rack design integrates sorting, pre-staging, and sequencing directly into the cube. This eliminates the need for external conveyors and processes, delivering orders in sequence to pick stations or docks. The result? Significant savings in capital, time, labor, and space. Store and retrieve goods to and from the tray storage lanes quickly, roughly 3 seconds per tray slot and performing simultaneous put-away and retrieval tasks in one trip with ease. The core structure is built around a rack design that can be modularly expanded, both vertically and horizontally, like a Lego set, to meet the needs of a wide range of brown and greenfield facilities. Storage lane lengths can vary too to meet differing applications and performance. For safety and simplicity, the deep lane solution is not dependent on battery power, is indifferent to uneven floors or unconventional ceiling and footprints, has no robots inside the rack structure, employs easy to access electro-mechanical systems outside of the racking and uses domestically source-able parts.
